A McCall, Idaho wedding at Shore Lodge in the winter might be cold, but there was nothing cold about this wedding and the deep love between Ashley and Larry as they celebrated their wedding.
Winter in McCall, Idaho is COLD. Like, -6 degrees cold. Coming from a guy who grew up in Virginia Beach, the whole city would shut down at the sight of a snowflake.
So, when we had just gotten 3 inches of snow in Boise, Idaho, I was pleasantly surprised at how clear the roads were and how calm the people drove. What I thought would be a dangerous trip to McCall, ended up becoming a beautiful snowscape adventure into the mountains.

Their personal vows were beyond sweet. They were such troopers to jump outside for some amazing footage outside of Shore Lodge! I flew my drone to capture the venue during the day, but I wanted to get a beautiful sunrise as well. The next morning, the weather was quite foggy. But, I still captured the crisp winter dawn. The fog added to the serenity of the winter wonderland, and it was such a peaceful time to capture aerial footage.
Leaving McCall for Boise
On my way home, snow began to fall. The sunlight was piercing through the clouds creating some awesome sun rays. I pulled over, whipped out my camera, and took some landscape photos of this glorious mountain scene. Who knew that this warm-blooded beach dude would feel so comfortable in the majesty and calm of the icy snow. It truly makes you grateful for the warmth brought into your life from friends and family. I can’t wait to see what my next winter wedding in Idaho will bring!
